Our Story

Hey! We are the Kaysen family. We are one family with 2 farms raising beef and pork.  One in Madison County and the other in New Sharon, Iowa. Thanks for visiting our site!  Here is a little information to get to know us and what we offer...

We have been in Iowa since 2018, we are originally from Colorado.  We had some great opportunities to move to Iowa and we are sure grateful we did! We are located on a 20-acre farm in St. Charles Iowa.  We love raising homegrown purebred pigs.  We pride ourselves in producing pigs that have been raised with best practices to make sure you understand that they have been well cared for.

My husband and his family grew up raising and selling pork and beef on their small family farm in Colorado.  I (Tara) married into this lifestyle of Agriculture and could not be more grateful for all the world of Ag has offered.  There may be a few people laughing out loud that I am now a full time Hog Farmer, but it has been a great way to raise our family, that's for sure!  

My sister-in-law, Wendy is the other half of this protein production, raising grassfed beef.  Her farm is located just east of Pella, Iowa in a small town, New Sharon.  Once we made the move to Iowa, my mother-in-law followed and then Wendy found a great home here in Iowa and followed!  She has a few paddocks of pasture that are perfect for raising just a few steers.

We started this online platform in 2019, in the peak of the pandemic.  We have been fortunate to make this all work and hope that you have an enjoyable experience with us.  We want you to understand where your protein has come from and be able to have confidence in us and our processes to ensure your protein is a premier product to serve to your family. 

I also want you to understand we are here to make your life easier too with recipes, featured items via our social media posts, convenience of delivery to your doorstep in the Des Moines & Madison County area, along with farm pick up as an option too. Life is busy and we have a few fast but amazing recipes to offer for those weeknights where you need a good homecooked meal.
